Naver has been confirmed to have invested in Anthropic, the developer of the artificial intelligence model "Claude," though the exact investment amount was not disclosed. According to the industry on the 10th, Naver Ventures, Naver's North American investment unit, made an indirect investment in Anthropic in the second half of last year through a fund managed by an external venture capital firm. Anthropic raised a $13 billion (about 18 trillion won) Series F round in September last year, and the funds are estimated to have been executed around that time. Naver did not disclose the specific investment amount. Founded in June last year, Naver Ventures, based in Silicon Valley in the United States, is discovering global tech corporations including AI. As of June, its cumulative investment execution exceeded $100 million (about 1.4 trillion won). Technology exchanges between the two companies are also underway. Caitlin Rishi, head of platform engineering at Anthropic, and Angela Zhang, head of product, visited Naver's "1784" headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, in June and shared experiences with Naver developers on AI agent technologies and use cases, as well as security.
