AIBIX lab, a local company specializing in Generative Engine Optimization, launched a 100-point “AI Brand Index” on Tuesday that measures how often and how favorably brands appear in the answers of generative AI chatbots such as ChatGPT. The index, called AIBIX, is built by running the same set of consumer-style questions repeatedly across AI models ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, then combining the results into a single score out of 100. The company’s first rankings, covering 30 food and beverage categories, are set for release in early August, with plans to expand into beauty and home appliances. In preliminary testing, instant rice brand Hetbahn, ramyeon brand Shin Ramyun and probiotic brand Lacto-Fit ranked first across all four AI models. The company found cases where prominent offline brands did not appear at all, and one probiotics brand showed a 45.1-point gap between the highest- and lowest-scoring engines. AIBIX lab CEO Kim Joon-hyeon stated that the new competitive edge lies in how often a brand is cited in AI-generated responses.
