Rakuten Mobile recently incorporated Anthropic’s Claude model into its corporate generative AI service, Rakuten AI for Business, to expand research and data analysis capabilities. The Japanese operator stated this shift would help companies make decisions by improving research functions, which include collecting and organising external information for market research, competition assessment, and strategy planning. The data analysis element assesses internal data to highlight trends and present information in a comprehensible format, aiding staff “without specialised data science backgrounds” in decision-making across departments such as sales, planning, and administration. Anthropic’s model adds to existing OpenAI ChatGPT-5 functions on the service, which cover meeting summaries, email creation, and project planning. Rakuten emphasised that its AI service is secure, with safeguards in place to prevent the technology from accessing data without permission.
