Bitcoin trades near $63,037, down 45% in a year, almost exactly half its October 6 record. Social Capital founder Chamath Palihapitiya said money should not land in artificial intelligence (AI) chips, instead buying land, a power connection, and an empty building to hold computers. He wrote that "LPS (Land Power Shell) is still the most obvious and fastest path to cash on cash returns." Palihapitiya cited towns blocking data centers, with Data Center Watch counting at least 75 US projects blocked or delayed in early 2026, worth about $130 billion. Opposition groups doubled and operate in 49 states, and more than 300 state data center bills were filed in six weeks. Palihapitiya said he helped start Groq in 2016, with Nvidia licensing its technology last December; he says the deal was worth $20 billion, though neither company gave a price. He would not do it again because chips run too fast, factories must be too exact, and startups cannot get enough memory. Palihapitiya and partner Anita Vlallian have acquired almost six gigawatts (GW), arriving in stages through 2029. Nasdaq-listed TeraWulf leased a 401-megawatt
