Tyms, an AI-native accounting platform serving businesses across Africa, North America, and Europe, has released the Tyms MCP server, built on the Model Context Protocol, allowing customers to connect their books directly to Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. Business owners can ask questions about their actual ledger data, such as balance sheets, unpaid invoices over 30 days, or March expenses, and receive answers from live books rather than sample files or exported summaries. The hosted server requires no installation; users connect Tyms inside their AI assistant, sign in, and approve access. Read access covers accounts, contacts, invoices, bills, expenses, income, inventory, and financial reports including balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, trial balance, and ledgers. With full endpoint enabled, users can instruct the assistant to create invoices, record payments, add expense accounts, restock inventory, or convert quotes into invoices, with the AI accounting agent Adam handling the logic. Every write action requires confirmation in chat. Security includes OAuth scoping to one business at a time, API keys never passing through the AI assistants, read-only or read-and-write options, and revocable access.
