Elon Musk claimed his brain-chip company Neuralink could deliver 'Jesus-level miracles', responding to a post on X about implanting electrode threads into the brain's dura mater. Musk said the technology could enable quadriplegics to walk again and the completely blind to see, reaffirming Neuralink's vision of restoring lost functions and enhancing human perception. He has previously touted the "Blindsight" chip, claiming it could restore vision and allow perception of multi-spectral wavelengths like ultraviolet and infrared. Musk has long called brain implants "Jesus-level technologies" for their ability to restore sight and reverse paralysis. Neuralink promises users the ability to perform routine tasks using thought control, such as typing or moving a mouse. Earlier demonstrations showed implants helping ALS patients convert thoughts into audible words, restoring speech. In January, Neuralink announced its next-generation chip, expected later this year, which will deliver three times the capabilities of current implants. Observer Peter Hague noted Neuralink's breakthroughs are often overshadowed by Tesla and SpaceX, arguing that a mass rollout of brain-computer interfaces could have huge medical and lifestyle implications.
