Julie Choi, CMO of Cerebras, stated in an interview with Maeil Business Newspaper on the 7th that the company's AI semiconductor, the Wafer-Scale Engine (WSE), is "15 times faster than Nvidia GPUs in inference," adding that "there is no trade-off relationship between speed and quality." Cerebras, a fabless company that made the entire wafer into a single chip, successfully listed on Nasdaq in May, raising about $6.4 billion, with a market capitalization of $43.7 billion as of the closing price on the 9th. Choi emphasized that "the engineer's time is becoming more and more important value," and that "even if the token is more expensive, if the engineer can do more, it is very valuable." Cerebras partnered with OpenAI and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide low-latency, high-speed inference services, and will soon unveil a GPT-5.5 Sol service with OpenAI. Choi noted that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Block CEO Jack Dorsey described Cerebras' speed as 'magic,' and that OpenAI chose Cerebras as a computing partner. Cerebras also plans to announce cooperation with Upstage in Korea and expressed interest in cooperating with Korean memory companies to develop advanced memory chips.
