OpenAI teased a new hardware product called "Codex Micro," a keyboard-like device engineered by Work Louder, a Montreal-based keyboards and accessories company. The teaser, posted on the OpenAI Developers' X account on Monday, showed a device slowly flashing a rainbow of colors, followed by the OpenAI and Work Louder logos. The post listed the date of July 15. An OpenAI spokesperson told Business Insider that the device is "designed to supercharge people's codex usage." Attendees of the AI Engineer World's Fair got an early look. The teaser device appears similar to Work Louder's Creator Micro 2, a shortcut keyboard with a joystick, but with OpenAI branding, including "OpenAI 2026" on the left side and "You can just…" on the right. This is not the hotly anticipated AI device being crafted by iPhone designer Jony Ive.
