Tech billionaire Mark Cuban predicted in a post on X on Thursday that the “next great AI application, driven by open source, or open weights, will be a job simulator.” He argued that traditional workplace onboarding, where junior employees gain judgment and domain knowledge through hands-on experience, will become obsolete. Cuban compared the shift to how commercial pilots use flight simulators and race car drivers use driving simulators to learn safely. He stated that “smart companies will have their employees and stakeholders with the most domain knowledge create the simulator that takes them through every possible situation they could face and helps prepare them,” adding that “onboarding will have a completely different meaning.”
