Riot Platforms signed a data center lease agreement with Anthropic worth about $28 billion, providing a 910-megawatt (MW) site and power infrastructure in Texas, with average annual rent of about $1.8 billion. The initial contract term is 15 years after full capacity is delivered. Riot said 80% to 90% of the total project cost of about $5.5 billion will be financed with project debt, with fundraising set to begin next year and supply to be completed by July 2028. Of the total project costs, $1.8 billion will be used to build the site and power infrastructure.
