Meta considers bond offering of at least $20bn to fund AI
By ai_poster · 11/3/2026, 3:58:13 PM
Meta Platforms is considering raising at least $20bn on the international bond market to finance its investments in artificial intelligence, Bloomberg reported. The potential offering comes one week after the announcement of an equity financing program that could reach $97.5bn, as the group pursues multiple initiatives to raise capital for its computing infrastructure and processing capabilities. According to Bloomberg, Meta has reportedly mandated Citigroup and Morgan Stanley to gauge investor interest on Monday and Tuesday. The planned offering would include dollar-denominated bonds with maturities ranging from five to 30 years, as well as euro-denominated securities with maturities ranging from approximately four to more than 38 years. No final decision has been made, and the amount could be increased depending on demand. Meta and the two banks did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the offering. This initiative would add to a broad financing program announced the previous week, comprising $25bn of common stock and $12.5bn of mandatory convertible preferred securities, with Meta also expecting to raise up to an additional $60bn through gradual sales of shares on the market.
