Kakao announced on the 16th that it will introduce a ChatGPT chatbot feature usable in KakaoTalk chat rooms. Users can access it by adding the ChatGPT chatbot from the menu in the upper-right corner of a chat room, then summon it with the '@' symbol and enter a prompt, such as "@ChatGPT tell me today's weather." An image generation feature is also available; for example, typing "@ChatGPT draw a sea landscape" will create a matching image. Kakao previously unveiled 'ChatGPT for Kakao,' developed with OpenAI in October last year, and said the latest update improves convenience. Cumulative subscribers to ChatGPT for Kakao surpassed 11 million as of last month. A Kakao official stated, "We will continue working to expand the ecosystem by advancing Kakao Tools, an AI agent that connects with the company's various services."
