On November 1, Huawei Cloud announced that its two self-developed model services, openPangu-2.0-Flash and openPangu-2.0-Pro, will cease sales on November 6 and be fully retired on November 30. After official retirement, even existing users will no longer be able to access these models. Both models were launched only a few months ago: the 92-billion-parameter Flash was open-sourced on June 30, and the 505-billion-parameter Pro was open-sourced on July 31. At the end of September this year, Huawei even open-sourced the pre-training, fine-tuning, and reinforcement learning code for Pangu 2.0. Flash users are advised to migrate to DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017, while Pro users are advised to migrate to Zhipu’s GLM-5.3. Huawei stated that a new generation of Pangu is already in planning, but no specific model name or launch date has been disclosed.
