d-Matrix announced that its Corsair inference accelerator received the "AI Processor Innovation Award" from the ninth annual AI Breakthrough Award program. Corsair, which entered full production this month, is recognized as the emerging infrastructure of choice for heterogeneous AI compute, working alongside GPUs to deliver significant increases in AI interactivity. The award comes as agentic AI workloads push inference infrastructure to its limits, with operators increasingly turning to Corsair with GPUs to meet latency demands. Corsair is purpose-built for the decode phase of disaggregated inference. Sid Sheth, founder and CEO of d-Matrix, stated the award reflects where the industry is heading. Steve Johansson, managing director of AI Breakthrough, noted that data centers are hitting limits on electricity while demand for faster, more interactive AI accelerates, and that adding more GPUs is simply not enough. The AI Breakthrough Awards program, now in its ninth year, drew more than 5,000 nominations from companies across more than 20 countries.
