The canvas, reminiscent of Microsoft Paint, features a dynamic brush engine, drawing assist tools, and stylus support. Launched around four months ago, the platform offers prompts for inspiration, feedback, and portfolio curation. The anonymous creator said the inspiration was his wife, an artist who struggled to stay consistent after having kids, and he wanted to give her an easy way to see progress and motivation. He noted that staying consistent is one of the hardest parts of making art, and doing it in isolation makes it harder. The platform appeals to younger audiences questioning social media's value, serving as a safe space without larger networks' negativity. The creator's end goal is for Bakatako to become THE social network for artists.
