In the three months ending 27 June, Disney reported higher revenue and income for its theme parks segment, with a 10 percent rise in revenue from $9.086 billion to $9.968bn for its theme parks and experiences. Operating income grew by 20 percent from $2.516bn to $3.017bn. Attendance rose by 4 percent year-over-year at Disney's global attractions, with particular strength at Walt Disney World and additional capacity at Disney Cruise Line. CEO Josh D'Amaro said the company is "proud of the growth that we’ve had this year, and we’re investing to sustain that growth," citing major attractions including Villains Land in Orlando and the Avengers Campus expansion in Anaheim, amongst others in the US, and a previously announced cruise ship expansion. In its third-quarter earnings, Disney said it views emerging technologies such as AI as "a significant opportunity for our company to drive returns." The company is using AI to design, build and operate its parks and experiences, including AI-powered digital twins and simulation tools for the new Abu Dhabi park. Disney has made its J.A.R.V.I.S. AI tool available to more than 2,000 Imagineers and is applying AI to simplify booking and planning for guests. D'Amaro stated, "Our company was founded on the convergence of creativity and breakthrough technology – and continuing that tradition is a priority for me and this leadership team."
