Naver's new artificial intelligence search tool, AI Tab, has surpassed 10 million users just 18 days after its full public launch, the South Korean technology giant said. Naver announced on Tuesday that AI Tab had reached the milestone as of July 14, weeks after the company opened the feature to all users on June 26. Daily queries on AI Tab have risen sevenfold since the tool's beta period, while the average number of queries per user has grown 1.7 times. The company said this approach has cut the time needed to move from research to a purchasing decision by as much as 60 to 70 percent in some search categories. According to a survey released Tuesday by the app analytics firm WiseApp/Retail, ChatGPT's average monthly app users in South Korea reached 23.2 million in the first half of this year, up 9.86 million from the same period last year. Google's Gemini added 6.81 million users to reach 7.79 million. The survey sampled Android and iOS smartphone users in the country. Naver's figure for AI Tab reflects cumulative users since launch, while the ChatGPT and Gemini numbers are average monthly users over the first half of the year.
