The New York Times is suing OpenAI and Microsoft for using its articles to train AI models without permission or payment. Alex Hardiman, Chief Product Officer at the Times, told Pioneers of AI host Dr. Rana el Kaliouby that the paper's journalism is high-value intellectual property produced at great expense and risk, and that AI developers must pay fairly to use it.
