Startup Perplexity, co-founded by Belarus native Dzianis Yarats, has developed a new artificial intelligence-based tool for programming under the code name Teammate, writes Office Life. According to information from Business Insider, company employees have been using this tool since May 2026. It is designed to perform complex engineering tasks, including project support, bug detection in code, and monitoring service operations, and was also used to detect errors in the company's internal systems. It is currently unknown whether Teammate will become available to a wide range of users. If this happens, Perplexity will enter the market for AI programming tools, where it will compete with Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Today, Perplexity has over 100 million active monthly users who utilize its search and agent tools, including tens of thousands of corporate clients.
