The Ministry of Ayush is advancing Artificial Intelligence as the next frontier for Ayurveda and the wider Ayush sector, building on the digital foundation laid by Ayush Grid, per FinTech BizNews Service (Mumbai, 20 September, 2026). The Ministry has been exploring AI across healthcare, research, education, information services and investment facilitation. Citizen-facing tools include the MAISP Chatbot for Ayush-related information, the GenAI-based ARP Research Assistant extending the Ayush Research Portal, the eLMS Chatbot for AI-based Student Life Cycle Management, the e-CHARAK Chatbot as a medicinal-plant trade assistant, Yoga Saarthi for yoga recommendations, and Nivesh Saarthi for investment in the Ayush sector. At the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026, the AI Impact Casebook on Health, developed with the World Health Organization, featured a Ministry of Ayush snapshot titled "AI-driven Decision Support for Ayurveda: A Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Approach." The Ministry is also participating in the IndiaAI Innovation Challenge, with use cases including voice-based Electronic Health Records, disease-trend detection, and personalised treatment-support solutions. On 11 July 2025, the WHO, ITU and WIPO jointly released a technical brief, Mapping the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Traditional Medicine. The Ministry has collaborated with IndiaAI and the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD), MeitY.
