Google Photos launched Video Remix, a new AI-powered feature announced on July 8, 2026, that lets users transform ordinary video clips into stylized content in a few taps. Powered by Google's Gemini Omni multimodal AI model, the tool offers three primary editing options: cinematic relighting to brighten dark clips with effects like "morning glow," background swapping to replace plain backgrounds with dynamic alternatives (e.g., street to greenhouse), and artistic filters including watercolor, raw sketchbook, and oil painting styles. Video Remix rolls out today to premium subscribers in a select list of countries, including the United States, India, Japan, Brazil, and Turkey, with additional launch countries listed as Argentina, Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea. The feature requires a Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra subscription, and users must be 18 years or older. It lives inside the Create tab of Google Photos, extending generative AI capabilities to moving pictures for casual users.
