At the sixth edition of Mysuru Big Tech Show 2026, Karnataka government officials discussed new infrastructure, incentives, and skilling programmes to position Mysuru as the state's next technology destination. The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) expects at least five global capability centres (GCCs) to begin operations in Mysuru this financial year, and the state’s new global technology centre (GTC) is set to go live next month. However, industry leaders highlighted critical missing pieces. Mohandas Pai, Chairman at Aarin Capital, proposed a high-speed rail link between Bengaluru and Mysuru cutting travel time to around 30 minutes, along with better public transport and faster expressways to attract international participation. Nisar Ahmed Rayadurg of IBM Consulting, which made Mysuru its first emerging technology centre in India, noted the city lacks an international airport, suggesting direct international check-in could reduce dependence on Bengaluru. IT Secretary Manjula N indicated the immediate government focus is Grade A commercial space.
