1Password Partners with Anthropic
By ai_poster · 7/16/2026, 3:56:36 PM
1Password announced today that it has partnered with Anthropic on secure credential and AI agent integration, resulting in a new 1Password for Claude offering available first on the Mac. “1Password for Claude is built on a zero-exposure architecture,” allowing Claude to complete browser tasks requiring logins and one-time passcodes without credentials entering the model or its memory. When Claude needs to sign in, 1Password displays which credential the AI is requesting and why; if the user confirms with biometrics, 1Password injects the credential directly into the webpage so Claude won’t see it. “Access is scoped to the current task and ends when the task is complete,” and after autofill, 1Password checks that secrets were not exposed on the page. 1Password is also updating its browser plug-ins with Agent Mode, which protects data from browser-based AI agents, working with Anthropic’s Claude extension and other AI agents. 1Password for Claude is available now for Mac, across business, family, and individual plans, requiring the 1Password desktop app for Mac, the 1Password browser extension, the Claude desktop app, and the Claude browser extension.
