The White House has found common ground with Anthropic after CEO Dario Amodei left negotiations, according to a report by Wired. Conversations between Anthropic and the Trump administration have improved since Anthropic co-founder Tom Brown and the company's head of public policy, Sarah Heck, took over discussions with White House officials. CEO Dario Amodei is no longer directly involved in the negotiations. One person familiar with the discussions told Wired, "Tom Brown is not being a weirdo like Dario and can actually engage." Officials reportedly felt Brown was easier to work with, while Amodei was viewed as someone who did not fully listen to the government's concerns. The restrictions began earlier this month after the US government instructed the OpenAI rival to block foreign users, including some of its own employees, from accessing its Claude Mythos 5 and Claude Fable 5 models. Rather than applying selective restrictions, Anthropic temporarily withdrew access to both models for all users.
