Techcross, the world’s No. 1 company in marine environmental equipment, and AI software firm StepHow have successfully completed a proof-of-concept (PoC) project built on WISSLY, applying artificial intelligence to more than 50,000 manufacturing data points. The companies announced this on the 10th, aiming to further advance Techcross’s manufacturing AI transformation (AX). Through the PoC, Techcross applied manufacturing data of more than 50,000 cases—including design documents, quality test reports, process records, and maintenance histories—to StepHow’s AI platform, validating a data search and analysis system tailored to shipboard environmental equipment manufacturing sites. Techcross, the world’s No. 1 company in the ballast water management system (BWMS) sector, pursued this data-driven AX transformation in response to strengthened environmental regulations by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and customer demands for tailored design. StepHow’s WISSLY is an AI work platform based on Agentic RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) technology, which autonomously builds search strategies and carries out multi-step search, reasoning, and self-verification. The project confirmed an AX execution model analyzing document search, design history, test results, quality issues, and regulatory response materials, expanding validation to AI-based work analysis areas such as ISO manuals and department-by-department business process flows.
