According to new documents submitted to the US Patent and Trademark Office, Tesla has officially applied to secure the trademark for a new product called the MEGAPOD. The filing, entered on June 18th, 2026, outlines an all-in-one modular system designed to house, cool, and run AI workloads. The trademark describes it as a self-contained, portable data center comprising computer servers, hardware for AI processing, networking hardware, power distribution units, and cooling systems. Tesla plans to deploy Megapods at underutilized Supercharger sites, where the compute cluster can throttle down when cars arrive to charge and ramp back up when stalls empty, ensuring infrastructure generates value 24 hours a day. By pairing a Megapod with a Megapack, Tesla can take advantage of peak-load arbitrage, using on-site Megapacks to soak up cheap off-peak power for the Megapods to consume without drawing expensive peak-rate power from the utility.
