At the two-day Summit for Pax Silica partner economies in Washington, DC, US Under Secretary of Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg highlighted the critical need for global collaboration in building secure technology frameworks, stating that "Governments everywhere are asking many of the same questions" regarding trusted AI ecosystems, investment, resilient supply chains, and citizen prosperity, and that "No country can answer those questions alone." Helberg noted that countries are "looking for practical partners to help growth" and underscored that "Artificial Intelligence is already transforming the global economy" and "will be one of the defining engines of prosperity for decades to come." On the sidelines, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Secretary S Krishnan met with Helberg to deepen bilateral technological cooperation, discussing avenues for building diversified and trusted supply chains in semiconductor manufacturing, AI adoption, and securing access to critical minerals. Krishnan is visiting for the second Pax Silica Summit, which features member countries exploring alternative strategies to secure critical minerals, a sector where China holds a dominant position. The initiative operates as a pact for economic and military security.
