Europe's largest technology conference, VivaTech 2026, opens Wednesday in Paris, arguing the next phase of the global AI competition will be won by deploying AI reliably in regulated environments, with a binding regulatory deadline now 48 days out. The conference's 10th-anniversary edition runs June 17–20 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, expected to draw more than 180,000 attendees, 15,000 startups, and 3,600 investors. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a GTC Paris keynote at the Dôme de Paris, framed as a progress report on commitments made last June to build more than 20 AI factories across Europe. In March 2026, Mistral AI raised $830 million — approximately €722 million — in institutional debt financing from a seven-bank consortium led by Bpifrance. The capital funds a data center in Bruyères-le-Châtel built around 13,800 Nvidia GB300 Grace Blackwell GPUs rated at 44 megawatts, on track to come online by the end of June 2026. A second €1.2 billion data center in Borlänge, Sweden, is planned for 2027, targeting 200 megawatts of sovereign European compute capacity. Each GB300 chip delivers up to 20 petaflops of FP8 performance, designed to host Mistral's open-weight models without routing through American or Chinese hyperscaler infrastructure.
