On October 25, 2024, WeRide went public on the NASDAQ as "the world's first publicly listed company for general autonomous driving", with a maximum intraday increase of over 27%. One month later, Pony.ai also landed on NASDAQ as "the first publicly listed Robotaxi company". The IPO wave began in 2023 when Hesai listed as "China's first publicly listed LiDAR company", and on December 20 of that year, Zhixing Technology listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at an issue price of HK$29.65 per share. In 2024, AutoX, Huayu, and Black Sesame Intelligence also listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. In 2025, Boreton and CIDI, "the world's first publicly listed company for unmanned mining trucks", went public. Other "first publicly listed" companies include UISEE, Huayu, In-Driving, and Momenta. However, these companies faced drastically different fates in the capital market.
