The Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance, formed in June 2024, is attempting to unify Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol under a single ASI token governance structure to build a decentralized infrastructure stack for the agentic web. The alliance’s architecture includes the uAgents Python framework, the Agentverse registry, ASI:Cloud/CUDOS GPU infrastructure, and SingularityNET’s MeTTaClaw system. However, integration has faced friction, with ASI:Chain still in the DevNet stage. In October 2025, Ocean Protocol withdrew from the alliance, citing pressure from Fetch.ai to convert all OCEAN treasury tokens into FET, which Ocean refused, and characterizing the governance as “administratively heavy, slow, and prioritizing show over practical product development.” Fetch.ai and SingularityNET disputed these claims. Additionally, an independent arXiv audit (2606.20570) conducted in early 2026, which audited 204 API endpoints on the Agentverse platform, identified a “Gap Taxonomy” of 8 categories and 62 missing capabilities, including agent memory, observability, and security, and found only 36,000+ protocol-active agents, contrasting with Fetch.ai’s touted figures of 2.7 to 3 million agents.
