Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Monday his intention to start a new Future is for Everyone Fund, aiming to invest in communities where Meta operates a data center, including Cheyenne. In an essay titled “The Future is for Everyone: The Path to a Positive AI Future,” Zuckerberg outlined a vision where personal superintelligence is available to everyone, based on Meta’s philosophy that “individual empowerment is the source of prosperity, invention (not automation) is the primary purpose of AI, checks and balances are the foundation for safety, and everyone should stand to benefit.” He wrote that sustainable infrastructure development must benefit the community through high-paying jobs, investment in schools and public services, stable energy prices, and environmental care, noting that increased tax revenue supports law enforcement, fire departments, and teachers. Zuckerberg cited a recent benefit in Richland Parish, Louisiana, where local teachers received a $50,000 bonus this year due to increased tax revenue. Wyoming spokesperson Karen Mason detailed Meta’s local investments in Cheyenne, including funding 180 Gutter Bin stormwater filtration devices with the city and Frog Creek Partners to help revive Crow Creek. Mason also noted Meta’s existing program has provided $75 million across 3,000 projects to support local schools and nonprofits in communities with data centers.
