Anthropic's Claude now offers an Import Memory feature that allows users moving from ChatGPT to transfer saved context. To use it, users click their profile picture in Claude, go to Settings > Memory, turn on Generate Memories from chats, and click Start Import to copy a prompt. In ChatGPT, they enable Memory under Personalization, optionally switch to Thinking mode using Shift-Ctrl-M for a more thorough summary, paste Claude's prompt into a new chat, and run it to generate a block of text. The full output is then copied and pasted back into Claude's import field. Anthropic says it can take up to 24 hours for the import to finish. The same process applies for moving from Gemini, requiring users to turn on its memory feature under Settings > Personal Intelligence > Memory.
