NVIDIA accidentally exposes 'GPU App Prioritization' to GeForce RTX o…

Some GeForce RTX owners report finding GPU App Prioritization in NVIDIA App version 11.0.9.585 using drivers on the R620 branch, despite NVIDIA having only announced the feature for RTX Spark. The tool, located under the Advanced tab in the System menu, provides a slider to control the priority of foreground and background applications running on the GPU. By default, the NVIDIA App gives 20% priority to background apps and 80% priority to foreground apps, but the sliders at their max allow up to a 10%/90% split between background/foreground priority and vice versa for prioritizing foreground applications. NVIDIA recently launched the GPU scheduling tool for the RTX Spark to let users control how applications are prioritized when multiple applications are running on the GPU simultaneously, and the feature has spilled over to GeForce GPU owners despite NVIDIA not announcing support for the tool with any other product besides the RTX Spark. The tool may work with modern NVIDIA GPUs when Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling is enabled, and functionally it appears to work with all applications, including games, and is not limited to controlling the prioritization of AI applications.
