Robopoet founder Sun Zhaozhi discussed the AI pet "Fuzzy" in an interview with Wall Street CN's All-Weather Technology. Fuzzy, Robopoet's debut product, has achieved cumulative sales approaching 300,000 units since its launch in mainland China in July 2025. Active users average over 40 minutes of conversation per day with the device, which responds with voice and can recall people and events from previous conversations. Sun noted that selling the product is only the start, as every conversation incurs large model inference and memory storage costs, requiring long-term, high-frequency interactions to avoid becoming a "disposable toy." In July 2026, Robopoet announced it had completed a nine-figure yuan Pre-A round earlier in the year, with funds directed toward product R&D and global expansion. Fuzzy has entered the Japanese market and is slated to launch in the US in Q4 of this year. Sun highlighted that for AI companion products, features like voiceprint recognition are critical, as errors can escalate from functional issues into relational problems. He emphasized that response speed, memory recall, voice consistency, and personality coherence influence whether users believe the character truly knows them, with users becoming more sensitive to moments that "break character" as companionship deepens.
