A study conducted by Gap Inc. and Microsoft last November found that "mindset beats mandate," as "388 Gap Inc. employees" who were "forced into a rigid AI workflow did worse than teams left to figure it out themselves." Sven Gerjets, EVP, Chief Technology Officer at Gap Inc., stated that when AI was "reframed as a thought partner instead of a tool, people produced meaningfully better work." The research also identified "an AI hangover," where employees who "struggled through a forced workflow without the mindset shift" carried frustration into their next task, which "measurably lowered how they felt about AI afterward." Separately, Gap Inc. is enhancing its global supply chain with Inspectorio’s AI platform to increase visibility, quality management, and supplier collaboration.
