LG Electronics is jointly developing robots for manufacturing sites with Nvidia, combining its hardware and manufacturing capabilities with Nvidia's Digital Twin technology stack, as stated by CFO Kim Chang-tae on the second-quarter earnings conference call on July 30. The companies are also collaborating to build a robot data factory, advance a robot foundation model, and develop a simulation and verification platform. In artificial intelligence data centers (AIDC), Nvidia's integrated platform is being linked with LG Electronics' infrastructure solutions, including joint development of high-density cooling technology; some models of LG Electronics' cooling distribution unit (CDU) recently earned Nvidia certification. In mobility, engineers from both companies have begun concrete cooperation to develop an AI-based software-defined vehicle (SDV) platform, currently conducting technical reviews of a next-generation high-performance computing platform and building the development environment. Kim noted that both companies see a need to cooperate across various areas at the inflection point of physical AI, and that a strategic partnership at the platform ecosystem level is fully on the table.
