A teardown of Google app 17.72.13 found revised Gemini shopping strings that replace “Find deals” with “Compare prices,” explicitly requesting checks across stores. The accompanying prompt tells Gemini to “Check product prices across this and other stores, and find any active deals, sales, or promo codes.” The review shortcut under “Summarize reviews” now asks Gemini to “Summarize user reviews for this product and give a verdict.” The similar-products prompt requests “Find a few products in a similar style, quality, or price range, starting with options from this store.” The article notes that Gemini’s contextual shopping overlay and broader deal-finding capabilities are already public, and that the new detail is how Google is refining its shortcuts. It also explains that APK teardowns examine an app’s code and resources for signs of features under development, and that such features may depend on server-side controls, evolve before release, or never reach users.
