Hancom Inc. achieved its highest-ever half-year revenue, driven by growth in its artificial intelligence (AI) business. On July 30, the company announced provisional results showing stand-alone revenue of KRW 9.86 billion and an operating profit of KRW 3.1 billion for the first half of the year. Revenue increased by 7.2% year-on-year, while operating profit decreased by 9.6%. Net profit rose by 23.3% to KRW 4.07 billion, thanks to investment income from selling its stake in Hancom Inspace. Second quarter stand-alone revenue was KRW 5.21 billion with an operating profit of KRW 1.34 billion, and the quarterly operating margin stood at 25.7%. On a consolidated basis, first-half revenue reached KRW 18.36 billion, up 24.6%, while operating profit fell 7.6% to KRW 2.29 billion. As of the end of June, cumulative AI product revenue had reached KRW 1.35 billion, surpassing last year's annual AI revenue figure of KRW 890 million.
