Today, Databricks announced the Public Preview of Domains and the Discover page, powered by Unity Catalog, to address the difficulty of finding relevant, high-quality, and safe data and AI assets as estates grow. Domains organize assets around business structure—by function, business unit, or geography—while the Discover page is the human-facing experience for browsing domains. This domain structure also helps agents understand relevant and trusted assets. The Discover page functions as an internal marketplace for assets including tables, dashboards, notebooks, queries, metric views, Genie Agents, and apps, organized by domain. It surfaces AI-powered recommendations based on signals such as activity, popularity, and certification, along with certified and popular assets. Data stewards can create domains, add subdomains, certify assets, annotate domains with descriptions and contacts, and build sections with pinned assets.
