Google is expanding its Gemini-powered Ask Maps feature, enabling English-language capabilities in over 150 countries and adding agentic food ordering, hotel booking, and attraction searching. Users can now plan entire days with these AI-powered features, including food ordering that completes every step up to payment. In a live demo, Google representatives showed a user asking Maps to "find restaurants near me that have oat milk lattes and avocado toast on the menu," after which local options appeared and orders could be placed via Toast, one of Google's official collaborators. For hotels, users can ask queries like "find a 4-star hotel in Atlanta within walking distance of several restaurants," with bookings available through Google's official partners, including Booking.com and Expedia. Attraction searches work similarly, with examples like "find modern art museums near me that are open past 3 p.m." Google also announced Personal Intelligence, a Gemini-powered assistant that integrates with Gmail to help plan outings, such as finding restaurants near a hotel based on flight and hotel confirmations in a user's Gmail account. Google did not disclose the total number of partners integrating with Ask Maps.
