During the Rio Innovation Week 2026, held from August 4 to 7, 2026, at Pier Mauá in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian Navy transformed part of its naval structure into a showcase for technology, defense, and innovation. The public had the opportunity to board the Multipurpose Aircraft Carrier Atlântico, regarded as the largest warship in Latin America. Attractions included military robots, simulators, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, nuclear projects, and scientific equipment used for ocean studies. Visitors participated in interactive experiences and watched presentations related to science, defense, maritime monitoring, and the development of strategic technologies for Brazil. The NAM Atlântico hosted exhibitions of military equipment, operational simulators, gaming arenas, virtual reality experiences, and demonstrations of strategic projects from the Naval Force. The Navy’s presence demonstrated that its activities are not limited to military operations, as it maintains programs focused on scientific research, knowledge production, and the creation of technological solutions for military and civilian use. In 2025, the vessel welcomed over 52,000 visitors, and that attendance reinforced the decision to expand attractions and areas occupied by the Navy in 2026. Technological challenges conducted aboard the ship allowed participants to experience situations found in military environments. Another highlight was the Vital de Oliveira Hydroceanographic Research Vessel, which provided a space dedicated to lectures on science, health, and technology.
