According to a PYMNTS report citing AWS and company sources, BMW's AI systems process more than 16.6 billion daily requests from a fleet of 24.5 million connected vehicles, handling 184 terabytes of data and roughly 100 million API calls with sub-second latency. The report states that BMW runs more than 600 AI use cases across product development, purchasing, production and customer operations, with over 12,000 developers working inside BMW's Software Factory on AWS. Reported use cases include AI-driven crash simulations, supplier contract analysis, real-time weld inspection on factory lines, and an automated root-cause analysis system that reportedly identifies the correct root cause in 85% of incidents.
