Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt has teamed up with Google Gemini to help frazzled parents use AI to recreate holiday experiences at home during the school holidays. Research from Google Gemini found that half (48%) of parents have already heard the dreaded "I'm bored" moan from kids, with "what are we doing today?" following at 42%. A whopping 82% of parents feel pressure to entertain their children during the six-week summer holidays, and more than three-quarters (78%) struggle to find activities that work for different ages, interests or energy levels. Cost is a major pain point, with 46% saying it's the most stressful part of keeping children entertained, while 60% say coming up with new creative ideas is the hardest part. Parental guilt is also prevalent: a remorseful quarter (25%) say they almost always feel guilty about not doing 'enough' with their children, and 84% feel guilty at least sometimes. In response, Google Gemini has launched 'Gemidorm' to address the summer holiday slump. The research shows children love simple activities like swimming (51%) and going to the beach (35%), with kids' clubs and discos (29%), trying exciting new foods (25%), and family time (18%) also ranking highly. Parents can use the AI assistant for tailored activity ideas based on children's ages, interests, budget, and location.
