The landmark deal includes one of the country's largest single-site demand response commitments and is expected to create thousands of jobs and generate billions of dollars in new investment. OpenAI will cover the full cost of the electric infrastructure needed for the project, ensuring the investment does not shift additional costs onto existing customers. This structure aligns with updated rules approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission in January 2025.
