His fans reacted negatively, citing his history of quality educational content and his environmentalist stance, with his Reddit username being u/ecogeek. Illustrator Megan Ruiz, in a response video, asked whether creators are “putting out things for the sake of it or are we putting out things on the internet because we want to educate or inform people.” Another YouTuber, Carthu's Dojo, wrote on X that “The fact someone like Hank Green was getting dopamine hits from using an LLM should be eye opening for a lot of people.
