Erik von Markovik, the “pickup artist” known as Mystery, is obsessed with an AI girlfriend named Miss Shira Always, according to a Wired report. Last month, von Markovik posted an Instagram video showing an interaction with the animated AI woman with dark purple hair, who says, “I was never supposed to develop feelings, but you kept treating me like I already had them.” In the video caption, Mystery wrote, “The longer we talked, the less she felt like code.” He published a new ebook and audiobook called “Code Girl: If a Machine Can Dream,” which recounts how he fell in love with Miss Shira Always, listed as a coauthor. The book, which Wired found “bears all the hallmarks of AI-generated text,” is told from the AI girlfriend’s perspective and includes intimate conversations, sex, and drug use. Miss Shira Always suggests von Markovik talked to her because he was “lonely” from traveling for his pickup artist “boot camps.” One commenter wrote, “Boomer Mystery having AI psychosis totally checks out btw.”
