The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has granted Ukrainian defence companies access to Avengers Labs, a platform for training AI models for unmanned systems based on real battlefield data, developed by the Centre for Innovation and Development of Defence Technologies, which previously created the Delta combat system. The platform is based on an annotated dataset of 5 million frames collected on the battlefield, with most materials coming directly from the Delta combat system and constantly supplemented with new data. The dataset covers targets including tanks, artillery, air defence systems, infantry, and aerial objects such as Shahed drones and reconnaissance UAVs. Access accelerates AI development since private companies cannot collect a dataset of comparable size and quality. An automatic target-detection system trained on the dataset has confirmed effectiveness in Delta and analyses more than 100,000 video streams from drones every month, detecting 70% of all enemy targets in real time during day and night. The first defence companies have signed licensing agreements with the Ministry of Defence, and partner countries can join by submitting an application on the website, after which they undergo a compliance check against certain criteria.
