A developer has identified five jobs safe from AI takeover, following Elon Musk’s warning that AI may exceed human intelligence in roughly five years. Musk told The Economist’s editor-in-chief that AI would bring “an age of amazing abundance,” adding “there really won’t be anything that AI can’t do better than humans apart from being human, perhaps.” Anik Devaughn, founder and CEO of Wired to Create in Stockholm, believes only five jobs will remain after AI expansion. The first is “connectors,” including product managers, founders, solutions architects, strategy consultants, chiefs of staff, and R&D or innovation leads, as AI cannot jump between domains. Creative jobs also survive, requiring “lived experiences” for roles like creative directors, art directors, editors, film directors, curators, casting directors, A&R in music, and heads of design. The third category is “anyone whose product is trust,” listing nurses, therapists, and senior roles.
