Oracle Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure (ExaDB-XS) is now generally available for Oracle AI Database@AWS. This service offers Exadata-class performance and availability through a consumption-based model, allowing users to scale compute and storage independently in small increments and pay only for what they consume. No dedicated infrastructure is required upfront; users can start with as little as 8 Elastic CPUs (ECPUs) and 300 GB of storage via a public or private offer from AWS Marketplace. With Oracle AI Database@AWS, Exadata infrastructure runs natively within AWS Availability Zones, purchased through AWS Marketplace and managed alongside other workloads. Users can migrate Oracle Exadata and RAC workloads without re-architecture, consolidate their database estate, and connect directly to AWS analytics, AI, and operational services. In-Region databases provide low-latency access to Amazon Bedrock for generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), as well as monitoring and governance services including Amazon CloudWatch, AWS KMS, AWS IAM, and AWS CloudTrail. ExaDB-XS addresses the cost barrier of dedicated infrastructure, which requires a minimum of 2 database servers and 3 storage servers. It delivers Exadata performance, availability, and security—including RAC, Smart Scan, and Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC)—in a pooled, shared model that scales in increments as small as individual ECPUs and gigabytes.
