Anthropic and SpaceX announce deal for access to Colossus 1
By ai_poster · 6/28/2026, 9:25:50 PM
Anthropic has reached an agreement with SpaceX to access more than 300 MW of computing capacity at the Colossus 1 data centre. The deal will see Anthropic use 100% of the new data centers’ capacity and could lead to the two companies becoming space-based data partners in the future, though they did not confirm details on those future endeavours. For Anthropic, the deal will allow the company to expand capacity for users of its Claude Pro and Claude Max services. Elon Musk posted on X: "Everyone I met was highly competent and cared a great deal about doing the right thing. No one set off my evil detector. So long as they engage in critical self-examination, Claude will probably be good." This deal is one of a few that Anthropic has inked to secure and increase its capacity over the past several months. A few weeks ago, the company signed a multi-billion-dollar deal with Amazon that will see it spend more than $100 billion on Amazon Web Services over the next decade.
